Our Story
The warmth and comfort she brought in the community, transformed “voisine (neighbor) to les familles” (family). Lovelie observed this growing up and this forged an indelible wish in her to strive to provide this feeling to people who would come to visit her. While at the age of 6, she found it fun to be in her grandmother's presence, she more notably became fanatical about offering the same warmth to guests. So by the young age of 10, Lovelie was already cooking and serving large groups of visitors (always under the loving and watchful gaze of Mrs. Jacqueline).
Cooking for people was always a way of showing love and openness to the household. Since they were influential people in the community, and their hospitality was very well known, they had a consistent stream of neighbor to the house, hosted by Mrs. Jacqueline and increasingly by Lovelie herself.
Having this kind of memory really embedded Lovelie to created La Sous Cuisine. During the pandemic of Covid-19 in May 2020 in Nassau County, NY in which was causes a lot of pain and grief in the whole word. People were quarantined at home with their family members. A lot of businesses such as restaurants were closing their door because of the safety of the community. Based on these observation Lovelie felt very compelled and launch La Sous Cuisine for Mother’s Day. All this come from a place of love, seen people craving for good food and social interaction really warming Lovelie heart and offer her friends and family the opportunity to order curbed side pickup meals packages for their mothers and loved ones. Lovelie felt very pleased to be able to support her community in such a time like this. Her goal is to continue supporting her community by providing her fresh and delicious meals.
